WHY WEECYCLE?
Cribs, car seats, strollers, changing tables, bouncy seats, high chairs…the list of basic gear you need when you have a new baby is endless...and expensive. All parents want to be able to provide for their children. But it’s not easy.
Here in Colorado we have one of the fastest growing rates of children living in poverty in the country. The Colorado Children’s Campaign found that since 2000, the number of children living in poverty increased by more than 70%. Poverty, especially childhood poverty, affects all aspects of our community, including the job market, social services, family structure, educational attainment, crime, and health.
We hope that by giving baby gear to families in need, we can help ease some of these hardships while providing infants and toddlers with the gear and toys essential to their healthy growth and development.

ABOUT US
Jayme Ritchie and Sunny Heydorn became friends in 2006 when they were both working as attorneys at a downtown Denver law firm. They each moved on once husbands and kids came into the picture, but talked often about finding a meaningful, fun way to give back to their community. They had two criteria: it had to help kids, and they had to be able to bring their own kids along. Then Jayme stumbled across a couple organizations in other cities that give gently used baby gear to low income families. It made perfect sense, so they decided to create a similar organization here in Denver. Inspired by their kids, Jayme and Sunny created WeeCycle to help babies in our community whose lives are affected by poverty, homelessness and domestic violence.
